Good Luck Chuck, The Ten, The Rise of the Silver Surfer, Bill (on IMDB the synopsis of this one was "This plot synopsis is empty",) and Awake... One winner in five? No wonder my husband knocked her off his top five.

Daniel Day-Lewis and his wife HAD to be the worst dressed couple. HER dress was just horrible and he looked . . . . . weird with those two big hoop earing's.

And hey - don't get down on Jessica Alba - she started in 5 awesome movies this year - it takes real talent to be in FIVE movies in one year!

Oooh, I second the opinion on The Host. Slyly anti-American monster messiness from Korea. I thought that was great.

And I thought Viggo was terrific, but Cronenberg's just a little too out there for the Academy, I guess. Strange, indeed, though that Best Actress came through so soon.

If you didn't get a chance to see "Host," do yourself a favor and rent it. It may not be worthy of an academy award, but if you are a fan of the monster movie that takes both its laughs and its shrieks seriously, you'll love it. It's about a slimy sea creature born of American ignorance that terrorizes the city of Seoul. Beautiful.

As for "The Academy," at least they nailed the Best Supporting Actor role.

The best actor shoo-in was a big joke if you ask me. I really thought the Academy would do the right thing here, but apparently I was wrong. I love Daniel Day-Lewis, but seriously, he reprised his role of Bill the Butcher from "Gangs of New York" for "Blood." He just traded the knife for a milk shake.

Either Viggo Mortensen or Johnny Depp would have made a much better choice.
