I got trapped out on my screened porch the other day during a very bad storm. I locked myself out of my house. My neighbors on both sides were home and they had keys but my trees were casting their branches off into the wind. I huddled in the corner of the porch and hoped the tree, after all, wouldn’t give up the ghost and fall on me and all the things I have been building around myself this last year.
The tree stood, for now.
Environmentalism is part of who I am. It makes me up.
Still I am sitting here at my computer– one of my two computers. I am kept company by my iPhone. I am getting ready to fold my freshly tumbled dry clothes before I leave to go out in one of my two cars. My new shirt smells like the chemicals it was washed in.
