I wonder what JFK would have to say

I wonder what JFK would have to say
If he, on the occasion of spring break,
Found his flight cancelled.

And thus re-booked for such an early a.m.
Could not decline the logic of overnighting
JFK Queens Radisson.

Took the AirTrain to the hotel shuttle to
The recently remodeled lobby and
The second floor with the broken ice machine.

Too many hours to while away in the room &
Cocktails $16 a piece. No. He strolls out past
The Hertz cubby along the flip book of 140th Street.

Rockaway Blvd. unrolls itself. Sparks flying
Out back the Railing & Iron Shop. Watery eyed pitbull chained in the
Tireyard. Prez stops to peruse homes for sale in a window.

“Huh,” he remarks to an anxious cat.  “680 for a
Three bedroom behind the roti shop.”
It makes him think of an article he read of late:

Queens is the new Brooklyn. The cat turns away.
He wonders if anyone anywhere along this road
Read that piece too, and when they plan to move.
